Description

Deciduous shrub grows at a moderate rate to 6' x 4'. Showy pink purple spikes appear in early summer. Flowers are fragrant. Fruit appears in late summer and is covered with velvety hairs, hence the common name. Would be an handsome accent plant. Seeds are enjoyed by quail. Accepts reflected sun. Native to Texas.
